Teleclasses
Women's U. teleclasses are offered via teleconference calls, which
can support several callers simultaneously. These classes are intimate and engaging.
Participants are encouraged to share their thoughts and viewpoints with one another
in a safe and supportive environment.
The teleclass leader has been trained to facilitate group interactions, and you
will find her to be very knowledgeable as well as friendly and compassionate.
You will likely experience a strong sense of support and camaraderie
amongst the class participants.

Frequently Asked Questions |
How
Do I Connect With My Class?
When you register for a teleclass, the instructor
will provide you with the telephone number for the class. At the appropriate date
and time, you simply dial the number, and within 2 seconds the instructor will
hear a beep indicating that you've joined the call. It's that easy, and it works
well. Once the instructor has welcomed you and the other students on the call,
the teleclass begins, usually at 3 minutes after the hour. The teleclasses are
55 minutes in length, so you'll end about 5 minutes before the hour.
What Are the Costs to Participate
in a Teleclass? In
addition to tuition, students incur a standard long-distance charge (from their
telephone company) to dial into the teleclasses. This runs about $6 an hour--about
equal to the cost of hiring a babysitter and paying for the gas to attend a class
outside of your home. There are no added teleconferencing charges of any kind--just
the long distance charge to reach our 305 area code conferencing system.
Do I
Need to be on the Internet to Participate in these Teleclasses?
You do not need Internet access to
participate in the teleclasses, but you will not be able to benefit from some
of our other programs (forums, chats, and buddy programs) unless you are online.
